By the end of 2020, the use of non-biodegradable disposable plastic straws will be banned in the catering industry nationwide. It is forbidden to use non- biodegradable disposable plastic tableware in catering service of urban built-up areas and scenic spots above the prefectural level.Two years later, the ban on non-biodegradable plastic bags was further extended to all urban built-up areas at or above the prefectural level and coastal county seat built-up areas. By the end of 2025, non-biodegradable plastic bags will be banned from market places in these regions. By the end of 2022, non-biodegradable disposable plastic tableware will be banned in catering services in built-up areas and scenic spots in the county. By 2025, the consumption intensity of non-biodegradable disposable plastic tableware will be reduced by 30 percent in urban takeout areas at the prefecture level and above.
